Engineering Team Lead at IRESS FS Limited in Cheltenham, PA
As an Engineering Team Leader within MSO, you will be responsible and accountable for all aspects of people and delivery leadership including the management of a cross-functional software engineering team. This is a hands on people and technical leadership role which actively contributes to the capability and capacity of the team. You will coach, motivate, and support the team to perform at their best and engage with people outside the team to leverage knowledge and capabilities ensuring effective and efficient delivery of required outcomes. Our Engineering Team Leaders act as a champions of change, leading the continuous improvement in thinking and actions, in line with the wider technology strategic objectives and goals. Accountabilities and Outcomes Manage live incidents, supporting the Technical Consultants and Hosting eam as required Ensuring the team's work is well maintained and be a key escalation point for team admin (Alfreds/SRE Jira tickets etc.) Using Actionable Agile to collect and evaluate operational performance data Backlog management and refinement with the Solutions Architect Facilitate operational meetings (stand-ups & team meetings) Manage team absence to ensure work continuity, updating delivery plans regularly Provide support and guidance to the team during delivery, bringing a big picture insight as to what's desirable Liaise with internal delivery teams to keep up to date with product changes and how these may impact the team Support the team with engineering work, being hands-on as required Identify areas the team could benefit e.g. new ways of working, updating processes Set-up discovery and refinement workshops as required All people leader admin e.g. holiday approval, performance evaluations etc. Core Technical Skills Technical experience and exposure to the following:
.Net Framework / .Net Core C# Typescript Angular Bootstrap SQL Powershell AWS and cloud - EC2, Lambda, RDS, Cloudformation, Terraform, Datadog TeamCity / Buildkite (or other CICD systems) Core Knowledge and Attributes A proven ability to navigate ambiguity and collaborate with other functional teams to ensure consistency and quality outcomes Experience working with product management in product and solution design Solicits the involvement of others to build a sense of ownership and demonstrates the confidence to act quickly and decisively, while balancing risk Can empathise with people and clients appropriately and uses that empathy in effective decision making Will test the status quo and enjoys thinking about and implementing innovative ways to solve problems Can motivate and inspire in a team first, collaborative environment Communicates in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner Is hands-on and has an entrepreneurial spirit and style Consistently becomes personally involved in all elements of leading the function, while ensuring the team has the freedom and autonomy to achieve goals and outcomes Demonstrates and is fluent in modern business and technology practices Experience in risk management principles, understands the impact of technical decisions on software risk Experience in software design, understands in depth the software delivery lifecycle, importance of automation and the impact of technical debt to teams and software outcomes
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
